David Delfín. En tránsito ...

... is an exhibition project conceived by Josep Casamartina i Parassols and Ismael Núñez Muñoz that offers a panoramic view of the work of David Delfín, conceived as a large-scale installation.

Presented at the Patio Herreriano Museum in Valladolid between 30 October 2025 and 11 January 2026, the exhibition brings together nearly two hundred pieces from the Antoni de Montpalau Collection.

The concept of transit unfolds here through multiple connotations. It conveys an idea of provisionality, displacement and relocation that directly refers to the fashion show of the collection titled Démenagement (2007/08), which lies at the conceptual origin of the exhibition. The exhibition space itself reinforces this notion: rather than occupying a conventional gallery, the display unfolds within the historic cloisters of the former monastery of San Benito, home of the Museo Patio Herreriano, establishing a direct dialogue between fashion, art and architecture.

The use of the museum’s professional transport crates as display elements underscores this condition of work in transit and establishes a clear link between the languages of contemporary art and fashion, already present in the designer’s runway shows. The term tránsito thus refers to that which flows, transforms and remains in constant movement.

The exhibition has also been conceived to accompany and complement the documentary David Delfín. Muestra tu herida, directed by César Vallejo de Castro, Ángela Gallardo Bernal and Rafael Muñoz Rodríguez, produced by RTVE and premiered at the Valladolid International Film Festival (SEMINCI). In this sense, the exhibition project and the audiovisual work engage in a dialogue with one another, broadening and enriching the reading of the creator’s work.

On a more symbolic level, the concept transit also refers to the passage from life to death and to the idea of transcendence that accompanies such a process, a dimension subtly present within David Delfín’s creative universe.

The Fundació Antoni de Montpalau, with more than twenty thousand garments and an equal number of accessories and documentary materials, is recognised as the most significant fashion collection in Spain. It holds an important body of works by David Delfín, from which the curatorial discourse of this exhibition is articulated, structured chronologically in relation to the designer’s collections and in keeping with the Foundation’s commitment to the conservation, study and dissemination of contemporary fashion heritage.

The exhibition journey is completed with a wide selection of collaborations, graphic material, runway videos and documentary resources, culminating in the screening of the documentary David Delfín. Muestra tu herida. The exhibition thus presents itself as an experience that brings together fashion, image, memory and transit.
